Wayne Rooney scores his 200th goal in the English Premier League

LONDON (Reuters) - Wayne Rooney, who returned from Manchester United, scored his 200th goal in the English Premiership when he opened the scoring against Manchester City at Manchester United in the second round on Monday.

The 31-year-old Rooney used a neat pass from fellow Dutchman Dominique Calvert Loewen to score the ball in the 35th minute from Brazilian keeper Anderson who moved away from Benfica earlier this season.
Rooney has become the second player to make the feat since the 1992-93 Premier League was adopted after England striker Alan Shearer scored 260 goals for Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle.
Rooney also scored Everton's only goal against Stoke City in the first stage.
Rooney is also the best scorer in the history of the England team and his former club Manchester United.
